My lab uses molecular epidemiology and genomic approaches to study disease transmission and the evolution of bacterial pathogens. Of particular interest are sexually transmitted infections, foodborne enteric pathogens, antibiotic resistant organisms, and nontuberculous mycobacteria.

Our goal is to use laboratory data to improve communicable disease surveillance and inform public health intervention activities.
