Some have called the drive between Cairns and Port Douglas the best scenic drive in Australia as it incorporates rugged coastlines, miles of white powdery beaches and expansive views of the Great Barrier Reef. The glacier guides were also top-notch. I had a blast! No adjectives will make justice to the beauty of the landscape that I saw during these 2 days trip.
This tour offers the possibility to see stunning places in a little time, that I will never forget. The landscapes we drove through were breathtaking and when I though I have seen the most stunning place, then the next place was even more amazing than the other. I felt under the charm and magic of Iceland. Our guide Icelandic guide Sigi was great!
He was fun and very knowledgeable. I really appreciated how he mingled facts about Iceland, games of Thrones as well as personal anecdote. I strongly recommend this trip, you will have amazing memories of these two days your all life! Our experience is exceptionally good and the guide is fantastic. He made every effort to maximise the experience by doing whatever he can do. Our guide Siggi was knowledgeable, funny and carried out interesting conversations with us. He joined us on the hikes and provided us with loads of information about history, folklore and culture.
He worked around inclement weather to show us all the attractions listed in the tour package as well as others which were not listed. The tour also included gear and other equipment to experience specific places of attractions to the fullest. They had fat tire bikes to make the trip to the plane wreck from the parking lot and ice climbing equipment for the glacier hike. The hotel in Vik in which we were put up was clean and comfortable. We also had sufficient time at each of our stops and did not feel rushed.go
2 Day Jokulsarlon Tour | Glacier Hike, Boat Trip, Black Beach & South Coast Waterfalls
Overall, I would highly recommend this tour and would not hesitate to use their services on my next visit to Iceland! An all around incredible experience! Breathtaking nature, great scheduling, wonderful overnight stay, warm friendly people, and the best guide ever! We learned so much from Vladi M. We laughed and were amazed at the sights that unfolded at every turn. Weather was ideal, that was lucky. But the rest was a well planned, and perfect;ly executed tour of beautiful South Iceland. I recommend it for everyone, singles or pairs!
We had a huge storm on day one so unfortunately had to wait it out for a few hours and couldnt do the hike; we were told that we cant do the hike as it hasnt been safe conditions for the past weeks so also due to the storm we ended up doing the ice caves instead. This was a great substitution, although we were disappointed about not being able to do the hiking trip. I would recommend the caving it was really cool! Day 2 we then had glorious weather and went to do all what we should have done in day 1, waterfalls, black sand beach, and the glacier lagoon.
He tried his best to make the best of the situation and ensure we still were able to go out on an excursion. The hotel in Hofn was really good also, and the restaurant and view from the hotel was outstanding. Sveppi is really knowledgeable and made the tour! Excellent time traveling with Jon. Beautiful part of the country and stops made at the ice lagoons were unreal!
Everything you need to know about visiting the Arctic
Tour guide was awesome and very patient with us. Allowed us a lot of leeway with times and very friendly. Were able to see the northern lights as well in Hofn which was awesome. Hotel was great clean, nearby to food, safe, free breakfast. There was a terrific storm that closed a major road and most of the tour companies. As we were only in the country a short time if Troll had done so we would have missed out on an amazing adventure. It truly was a great tour. The hotel also had a good breakfast. Benny managed to stop at all of the itinerary items, and we did not miss out on anything despite the storm.
We are so grateful that the folks on Trip Advisor recommended NOT doing the drive ourselves and booking a tour. We listened and we were really happy we did. The roads were icy and winds were blowing, but our driver did an amazing job getting us to the awesome sites, sharing stories and history, hitting the sites at the perfect time of day for gorgeous pictures and an even more phenomenal experience.
It was truly amazing. Thank you so much! Big thanks to Vala and Kristo, our guide and driver who contributed a lot to this wonderful trip. The scenes are truly exceptional, I will never forget. Highly recommend this trip to everyone!! I joined this tour as a solo traveler in the winter and had a remarkable experience. The small tour size creates a much more fun experience than a giant bus of tourists. We made a handful of photo stops in addition to the major destinations, which were remarkable.
Jokulsarlon was truly magical and the entire journey provided a fast way to experience most of the southern coast. Hearing from our guide about the history of the landscape as well as how to properly pronounce them rounded out a stunning and unforgettable trip. My whole trip in Iceland and I was always on a tour. I was in a tour of 50 people, which to me was way too much. I will always stick to smaller groups like this one. Our guide Ziggy was very friendly, and knowledgable about Iceland! The hotel in Hofn was beautiful, nice sized and comfortable.
I miss Iceland so much, I think it will become my home away from home.
What an amazing two days, there was a lot of travelling involved but the majestic scenery helped day dream this time away. The highlight was the glacier hike which really has to be seen to appreciate the sheer beauty of this area. Our tour guide Siggy was awesome and has nearly convinced me of Elves: Guide Oddur is a very nice, helpful person. We really enjoyed the trip. Hope we can come to iceland again. I definitely recommend this trip to everyone. Very nice to meet Oddur in Iceland. The tour was great, our guide Svein was fun, I really recommend this tour.
An unbelievable experience - highlights were the Lagoon with the icebergs, the glacier hiking and the black sand beaches. The glacier hiking guide Vincenzo was unbelievably informative - I learnt a lot! The hostel at Vik was lovely and included breakfast in the price. Overall an unreal experience!! It is best to do it if you have already seen the likes of the Golden Circle. Then you can prepare to enjoy yourself for two days with an overnight stop. The highlight for me was the glacier hiking, the glacier lagoon, and the distinctive lava fields and black sand beaches.
We also caught some puffins on the cliffs above the beaches.
Our driver sorry, cannot remember his name, but he did the tour Aug was friendly and witty. The overnight accommodation was fine as well. I don't usually take group tours but I cannot recommend this tour enough - it was stunning and we were all given enough space and time at each of the stops to do our own thing. The glacier hike was the highlight for me - incredibly beautiful! Oddur was the perfect guide, informative, calm, entertaining and really interesting to talk to - he even had an Icelandic soundtrack to accompany us in the mini-bus.
Exceeded my expectations and was a great final journey in Iceland. I enjoyed the tour very much because of the stunning scenery along the south coast. Oddur was an excellent guide. He not only took us to different scenic spots, but also introduced us some interesting ways to enjoy it. Best tour I've had in Iceland thanks to our guide Oddur. Such a sweet guy. Always taking care of those who fall behind, showed us not only his knowledge of the sites but his Icelandic humor and music taste, and helped taking photos while we were busy doing all the crazy things.
If you're looking for the kind of guide who truly "participates" in the tours, not just "being" in the tours, Oddur is definitely one of them. The one-night accommodation in our case was a cute cabin, cozy yet spacious. You get a really close-up look at the hidden beauty of nature. So make sure your outfits, especially the shoes, are waterproof. Oddur, our guide was very accommodating. He makes sure everyone is safe and accompanies us to the site. Doesn't just sit in the van and wait for you. I really enjoyed this two day tour in Iceland!
Oddur is such a lovely guide. I do enjoy this trip. Guide Oddur is really helpful and quite humor. He can answer all the information about Iceland culture. I would recommend this trip to my families and friends in the future. Glacier lagoon is amazing. Diamond beach is nice. I really enjoyed the trip. We traveled along lots of exciting locations, including waterfalls, caves, shores and of course glaciers. The view was just stunning. Our guide, Oddur, was very helpful during the trip. He was really helpful, funny, informative, and answered all our questions about Icelandic culture.
The hotel that we stayed in was quite neat as well. This two day trip is amazing! All the waterfalls and the nature and especially the glacier lagoon was beautiful and the glacier hike was beyond my expectations! The guide was so friendly and funny and he told us a lot of stories and facts about Iceland, that made the trip even better. I highly recommend this trip! Iceland has treated us so well, and this 2 day tour was absolutely the highlight of our trip. Thanks for Oddur the fantastic and knowledgeable guide, we got to know so much more about this country.
And he is always patient and helpful, not to mention his professional photography skill! Overall the trip is beyond our expectation, I am still fascinated by the fact that we've been hiking on the glacier and walking behind a waterfall! Oh and the hotel that we stayed was very good as well. Highly recommended for this tour. The guide oddur, troll expeditions was really fun and helped us take great pictures. The hotel stay was pretty great as well.
Really worth the price. I had this wonderful short trips with the local tour guide Oddur on 29th June. We were never get bored not only because the view was awesome and he had a good taste of music. Travelling in a small group did give us more chances to see secret places. Oddur is always taking photo for us for free where you may pay hundreds of dollar for a good photo. I definitely recommend you book a tour with him. My and my friend visiting Iceland only for 5 days decided to make the most out of our holidays. We joined 10 other adventurous persons seeing all of what the south coast of Iceland has to offer.
And I will tell you here that it has many attractions and activities to participate in. Seeing the glacier lagoon is definitely highlight of any trip to Iceland. Going on a boat and sailing between ice bergs is one of the options that we decided to use, the cost was around 50usd but well worth it. The food at the hotel was great and we enjoyed great conversation with Dagur the driver. Both were great, small groups that allowed us to take detours and personalize our trips.
Both David and Dagur were fun and knowledgable guides. Thanks again for the amazing experience! David was an awesome guide. He picked us up at our hotel and after finishing the pick up we went on the road. With some really nice stops on the way. The glacier lagoon was my favorite of the first day, the black sand beach was also nice.
The hotel was really nice. On the second day the glacier hike was great the nature around the glacier is really special. Really fun tour that we took with Troll Expedition. The glacier hike was the highlight of our tour, everything was nice. Good guide sorry for not remember his name and the hotel was really nice with good staff that helped us settle in. In all very good tour. This trip was wonderful.
I loved the glacier lagoon and the Sun world glacier. The black sand beach was incredible and the waterfalls and the canyon with the complicated name was stunning. I recommend this trip to everyone. It was rainy and windy the day of glacier viking and he lent his outdoor jacket to me which did me a great favour! In a word the trip was a lot of fun thanks to our guide and driver, I would highly recommend this trip!
Our two day trip was awesome--I saw so many beautiful sights I do not even think I could pick a favorite! Our tour guide Antonio and our bus driver were great, always making sure we were comfortable and personalizing our trip to fit in what the group wanted to see. Antonio was constantly providing us with facts about the countryside and the places we were visiting and was even our personal photographer.
The photos he took of my friend and I at the waterfall inside the cave were worth the price of the trip alone! The hostel was nice, and comfortable and would be the perfect place to view the northern lights on a clear night.
This trip is the perfect length and a must do to get out of the city to truly experience all of the beauty Iceland has to offer! We spent our 2 days experiencing waterfalls with picturesque rainbows, glacier hiking, driving along the beautiful country side, boat riding, and meeting new people. Weather was tricky as it always is in Iceland , but our tour guide Antonio worked tirelessly to make sure we were constantly entertained. He not only served as our personal tour guide, but also our photographer, comedian, Icelandic historian, and by the end of the trip, friend!
The hostile stay was very comfortable, and the trip was a nice length.
Overall, I highly suggest this trip to anyone visiting Iceland to get out of Reykjavik and explore the country side. Unforgettable experience of all the glacier, the hiking and the amazing view. It was rainy and foggy the first day so the horizon is poorly bad. But our guide David try the best to share all his knowledge about the south coast. I learned a lot about the volcano ladies, the puffin and the Viking. We are lucky on the second day that we can see all the perfect view before or after storm, what a great shot!
So I really thank nice travel for these two day trip. I choose this tour cause of the wonders min the south coast. The tour was really nice, we had a cancellation on the first day for glacier walk but nice travel made it sure we could do it on the second day. We stayed at nice travel hostal and it was really nice and confortable. Our tour guide was Antonio , he was super fun and made sure everybody was safe, confortable and having a good time.
I will defiantly recommend this tour and surely will miss Antonio. The glacier hike was unforgettable and the black sand beaches were enchanting. Our tour guides were very friendly and went the extra mile to show us some beautiful hidden waterfalls and let us pet some horses by the roadside.
We also got to see the northern lights! We had a wonderful time. We are impressed with this trip with Nice Travel. We appreciate David's professional, safe, and considerate arrangement. I was pleased with this tour and definitely thought it was worth the money! Our glacier hike was canceled the day of because of weather but they were able to reschedule to a new glacier the next day.
I would remember to be flexible as the weather is so unpredictable. Keep an open mind and you will love he scenery!!! It was the amazing two days with a very beautiful weather!!! And we saw the northern light!!!!! Our guider David is very kind, hospitality and proferssional! We do enjoy those two days! The glacier hike was incredible and well-arranged, kudos to the guides! Given that it could easily take an hour or more to move from one sight to the next, the tour is a blessing as you could get some shut-eye as the driver negotiates the roads.
The hostel for the overnight stay was clean and professionally run. My wife and I had a great time on this trip. Despite weather canceling our glacier walk planned for the first day, this was a blessing in disguise as we got a much better walk on the second day after the glacial lagoon. Our guide was wonderful, highly informative and attentive throughout.

The accommodations were great and additional itinerary stops thanks to great timing were an added treat. Mika was pretty much friendly and patient. The hostel was new, quiet and beautiful. Antonio was a fantastic guide and really went far beyond the call of duty in helping my friend and I get the most from our experience in Iceland.
I would highly recommend any tour with him! The guide Antonio was great and informative. The tour was absolutely amazing. We even got to see the northern lights. Booked this tour last minute and it was the best tour that my friend and I had! We were very fortunate to have Antonio as our tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and the best part, he still educates himself more about Iceland.
Instead of googling something up, you can ask him and he'll explain everything in details for you. He has a great sense of humor which made the trip so much more fun, especially the amount of hours you have to sit! Iceland is so beautiful and it's so great that Antonio gives us the history on it as well as inform us of spots where some films were made!
- The Cranberry Hush: A Novel.
- Quick facts.
- Shannons Creek?
It was an amazing experience and we would definitely go again! Highly recommended and we've already told many of our friends as well as the people from the hotel that we're staying at, to go to this! Thank you so much again! This trip is a great experience! We were extremely lucky to have Antonio from Nicetravel as our guide. He is very responsible and helpful in all respects and I believe he knows about the country much more than any average Icelander, he told us really a lot about everything we saw, not only the stop points, and was very nice and friendly.
In total the trip was a lot of fun thanks to all participants, the driver and the guide, I definitely recommend this tour! It was a great experience! I don't need to say how wonderful these sights are. What I want to recommend is the guide David from Nicetravel, he is quite helpful, responsible and professional in the views as well as tasty food. This tour is highly recommended! This tour definitely is the highlight of our trip to Iceland. This 2-day trip is fantastic and we had precious and great experience during the trip.
The glacier hiking and Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon are really amazing, and waterfalls is beautiful, what's more, our guide led us to a "private waterfall", making this trip a wonderful experience. We stayed in Nice Hostel, which is a nice: The guide and the driver are two cool and nice guys, I appreciate them very much as they kept the clothes I left on the bus, in which I put very important stuff. Anyway I had a great fun and this is a unforgettable trip! Highly recommended of this tour, our guide David is very nice and lead us found some views which are not in the itinerary, it's a special experience for me.
Small group numbers tour is very comfort and easy for us make friends with each other. The vehicle is also clean and comfortable and David is a good driver! This trip is the top one in my recommend list in Iceland! Thank our tour guide Steinar. The driver was sooooo nice! He is a happy old man and he even agreed to drive two girls to the airport, which of course he did not have to do. He was very generous to lend me his converter during the first night. That was very much appreciated. The tour guide Lucia, even though she is not an Icelander, knows a lot about Iceland and she was telling us a lot of funny things during the drives.
Moreover, she was really caring and passionate. Best trip from our 5 days in Iceland. Good program, friendly tour guide, small problems with the acomendation, but still a fun trip. This is the best tour which I experienced in Iceland. Perfect guide and nice natural beauty. Especially the second day, the whole day was full of ice, how exciting it was! We joined two day tour, southern coast tour from 9thth June with Nicetavel. In particular, our guider David is so nice ,so friendly and professional.
He is the best one in our whole month journey. We did enjoyed his thoughtly service and sincerely recommend Nicertravel and David himself. Wish you all the best. Our guide, Antonia, was a highlight in this tour. He is so good at introducing everything, friendly, and very talkative. He made the long time driving not boring at all! He loves travelling, told us he is a photographer and tried to point our the best view points in all sites. All the other attendees in our tour were also kind and nice.
It was a great group! However, I am not very happy with the changes the company have made after my booking. When I booked the trip, I got doubled confirmed by email that we would go to the Svartifoss. But we didn't go there as they said it has been taken away without changing the description on website or notifying to the pre-booked customers.
This made a huge pity for my mom and made me very dispointed personally reasons! Also, they have moved the overnight living place from Hofn village to be somewhere close Sellfoss. You will miss Hofu village. We drove almost all the way back which made the trip not effective at all! Just to emphasize, Antonia is one of the best guides I meet and the best one in this whole Iceland trip! They adjusted the program according to our whishes. On the second day in the evening -after the checkin in the hotel- the driver took us separately down to a restaurant and drove us back.
The second day they have showd us extra places. Mika took an extra stop that we see puffins as well. We hava seen fascinating areas. For those who have seen geysirs already I think there in no better 2 day tour than this at the south cost. Find a tour Rent a car Find accommodation.
