Now I'm wondering where they'll go next. Will it fast forward 30 years to a rough and tumble western town like Tombstone? While most authors end their series because the 2 characters are finally together and they therefore feel the tension is gone. Jenna Maclaine is just beginning. She skillfully maintains the deep love between the 2 characters and keeps a simmering, sexual energy brewing. It is never boring! And although the main characters, Cin and Michael don't always agree, Michael and Cin each have a devotion for the other that carries throughout the entire series, even in times of crisis.
Plus, it doesn't hurt that Cin's love interest, Michael is dangerous, gorgeous and loyal.expert-professional.com/media/map26.php
Bound By Sin (Cin Craven, #3) by Jenna Maclaine
This series is constantly evolving; I can't wait for Jenna Maclaine's next book! If you haven't tried the Cin series I cannot recommend it enough! But I strongly suggest reading the first, Wages of Sin to really find the most satisfaction. View all 6 comments. May 24, Laura the Highland Hussy rated it it was amazing. I have read as many of the Cin Craven books as I can, and all in the past week, so if any of this is repetative or if I go over something I used in a status update, I'm sorry. I got a bit confused by reading a Cin Craven short story out of order. Now, this book has it all.
There is a haunted plantation, a cat who only lets the ghost pet her, a murderer, a voodoo queen, Ares, the god of War, and Morrigan, the Celtic goddess.

How could I forget the vampires. We enter into this book with I have read as many of the Cin Craven books as I can, and all in the past week, so if any of this is repetative or if I go over something I used in a status update, I'm sorry. We enter into this book with Cin being summoned back to London from France, and her descendants asking her for help. One of her cousins has been kidnapped by an American who wants an urn from her. We also see a bit of sisterly bickering and bonding between Justine and Cin. One of the reasons for the bickering is that Cin has kept her human ties to her family and her old life, while Justine cut all ties with her human life after she was turned.
I think this whole series has done a fabulous job of showing the bittersweet aspect of immortality, of watching one's loved ones die and getting close to the next generation only to watch them pass too. Once the location is discovered, Cin, Michael, Justine and Devlin hop a ship to Georgia and think it will be an easy grab and go. In fact, they go right up to his house and knock on the door in the middle of the night. IN fact, Cin was worried about the propriety of one showing up on someone's doorstep in the middle of the night. If that didn't warrant two vampires knocking on your door in the dead of night, I don't know what did.
Then they called in Adrien's mortgage and evicted him. I think that the vampire aspect in this book was touched on, but it wasn't quite as involved as the previous 2 books. Here we deal more and more with Cin's dark side, and how all the voodoo on the island is calling to her dark magic. In fact, Pandora, the voodoo queen from New Orleans, helps Cin to understand that both the light and the dark magic are part of her, and trying to repress the dark magic will only make it "hungrier," so to speak. She needs to find a balance in herself and with her magics.
Michael hates the dark magic and worries constantly. Devlin and Justine are in Jamaica securing their return passage to England, so they aren't in the bulk of the action, but while at first I was sad they weren't in there, by the end, I realized why and how well it had worked. The villain of the piece, Adrien, the kidnapper and coveter of the urn, killed his wife, and she still haunts the place.
Miss Evangeline cracked me up. Now the urn that we've been touching on is the reason Cin's cousin Claire was abducted. It's an urn housing the Greek god of war, Ares. Claire accidentally summoned him, after Morrigan gave him unto her keeping. Adrien wants to unleash Ares onto the battlefields of the Civil War and kill of the Yankees. But the urn has to be handed over, not taken, so he took Claire and is trying to "persuade" her to hand over the urn.
I'll stop the spoilers there, but let's jsut say the ending is soo open, and I'm furious that Jenna MacLaine didn't put an excerpt of the next book, after leaving me with that ending. Never fear, it's not quite a cliffhanger, but it's just enough information to leave me with my jaw droppped and flipping the last blank page, thinking "No, no that's not it! A great book, a great series, and I'm dying for more Cin and Michael. Aug 20, Kitt rated it liked it Shelves: Starting this series, I mistakingly assumed it was a trilogy; considering this last installment was released in Had I'd known that, I probably would have never picked it up in the first place.

Dec 21, Katyana rated it really liked it Shelves: Yet another fun installment in the series. This book takes place nearly 50 years after Cin was turned, and the first few chapters made me cry. It was great to see both Cin and Michael come to terms with Cin's magic.
I only hope that Devlin and Juliana can do the same - they are Cin's family, and she needs them. I think my only real criticism of this book was that we didn't get much of Devlin and Juliana. When does book 4 come out?! View all 4 comments. Jul 14, Laurie Garrison rated it it was amazing Shelves: Jenna has really done a good job with this book it has romance and adventure. Cin travel to America from English with her husband Michael, and find that her cousin, Claire, have something, an urn that can make the war in America getting worse. If Ares released, the man who abduct Claire, will get him to make his side as a winner in Civil War, but there are things that not expected, because Ares falling in love with Claire, so it make Claire in dangerous too.
In the other side, Cin must struggle with her dark magic, Michael afraid that she will succumb forever to the darkness. Cin become sad, because Michael still not believe her, even though they already become husband and wife. Then, Cin got a help from Pandora, Claire's abductor's daughter. Pandora said that Cin must accept who she truly was, why she has a dark magic. The question is, is Cin ready to released her dark magic? The story still great like two books before, but the conflict sometimes feel flat for me.
The ending make me wonder , is there a continue in this series? If the answer is yes, I can't wait to read the fourth book, and what adventure that Cin and Michael will face next Aug 08, Roxanne rated it liked it. I do have to give credit to the author who showed the downsides to being a vampire, having to watch all those you love age and die.

I'll admit I shed a few tears in certain scenes of this book and at the same time I think some great characters got killed off. We do get introduced to new characters but I think a series needs those constant supporting characters to keep it going. If Devlin and Justine were in it more I think it would have been a bit better, b 3. If Devlin and Justine were in it more I think it would have been a bit better, but I found myself feeling disconnected to everyone in this book.
Even Michael who I loved in book 1, at every turn he is doubting Cin and giving her the 'pity stare' which annoyed me to no end. Another thing I noticed with this series is the age gaps between each book, I get that they are vampires and obviously live forever but there was like 20 year gaps between each one but Cin and Michael still acted like they didn't trust each other after 40 something years together. It just didn't make sense. Lastly was the Epilogue with Morrigan Overall it wasn't a bad book, I did enjoy parts but I found myself getting bored.
If there's another book I'll definitely read it but I won't be waiting anxiously for it. Jun 25, Anne rated it liked it Shelves: I really liked the other two books in this series, but Bound By Sin just didn't do it for me. It was a pretty easy read, so I couldn't give it less than three stars, but I doubt I'll rush out to get the next book. I was a little annoyed that the description on the back made it seem like Cin and Michael were going to have some big fight over her using black magic that would put their love and loyalty to the ultimate test insert dramatic music here.

News which requires that she travel across the ocean to a blockaded Savannah, Georgia to rescue her cousin from her kidnapper, Adrien Boucher, the owner of the Devil's Island plantation.
It's not difficult to find. It's not even difficult to meet with Claire. Getting her to safety even turns out to be child's play. If you have the money. It should be a simple matter of waiting for Justine and Devlin to return to Georgia. It should be if you don't take Adrien's overweening conceit into account. From here on, it's black magic, a snarky ghost, a passionate Claire, the usefulness of war, and ambushes.
All to fulfill a long-held plot. He is partnered with Justine, the Devil's Justice, a former courtesan and opera singer. Claire Mahone is Raina's youngest daughter with an ability to see ghosts, fairies, and other supernatural sights with a newly interesting condition. And Cin has just discovered that her beloved friend, Fiona, died last year in at age 68 before Cin got back to Ravenworth. Janet is Fiona's only daughter. Adrien Boucher is a lazy scumbag with delusions of grandeur and no qualms as to how he achieves the heights of which he dreams.
After marrying Evangeline Peyton, he had control of her family plantation, Kenneway, but not the gold her father had buried. Pandora is a slave at Kenneway. A slave comfortable with black magic hiding a deep secret from everyone. Ulysses is her husband and both came to Kenneway when Boucher married Evangeline. Elizabeth McCready and her children are happy enough to see the back of Mr. McCready, the overseer for Kenneway. My Take It's absolute fluff and a great read in spite of Maclaine's haphazard approach to cultural mores and intercourse.
The trick with handling a story this way is to not make it obvious. To not distract the reader with the irrelevancies and Maclaine does a good job of this.
Bound By Sin
Rather a lot of tidying up going on in Bound by Sin. Raina is worried that her youngest daughter, Claire, will never marry and after her disastrous first marriage, she is even more concerned. Yet Claire bounces back in a way no one could ever expect…except the Morrigan. Evangeline receives her revenge and the slaves at Kenneway get an extremely hopeful future. Hmmm, you'd almost suspect that Cin had Foresight… Cin in particular manages to gain a sight of Hope when Pandora helps her to face her black dog.
To understand why Cin has struggled so hard with the black magic with which she's been infected and why it affects her as it does. As Maclaine writes of Hamlet, "There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. Or is that ninja-ess?? Cin is clad in her beloved breeches wearing a black corset its seams outlined in red with red cording tying the front together. Posed in a lunge inside a cemetery, her long red hair unbound and clustering around her neck, Cin is glaring out to the side, a sword in one hand and a dagger in the other.
At least the title fits in with the cover…more license. The only correlation I can find between title and story is Claire's extracurricular activities. As for the cover. There was a cemetery in the story. But it was a slave cemetery. I very much doubt they had much in the way of marble statues and fancy tombstones. Even Cin's stance is more of a summary of her usual actions. Jan 31, Bookaholics rated it it was amazing. Bound by Cin by Jenna Maclaine Paranormal Romance- December 29th, 4 stars Bound by Cin is a exhilarating read that is sure to please devoted fans of the series and become a great find for lovers of paranormal, vampires and Urban Fantasy although readers of very dark and moody fantasy may find it a little light.
Jenna Maclaine skillfully writes a novel brimming with danger, mystery and mythical characters that raise the stakes for Cin and her friends. In this latest installment, Cin who is a vampire and powerful witch is called back home to find a distant relative, named Claire who has been kidnapped to the Americas. There Cin finds danger and black magic which she has tried to suppress. And Cin must find her courage to overcome her darkest fears.
Cin is constantly challenged and learns more about herself and her powers. The author definitely does not take her readers for granted with recycled plots lines. Another reason I adore this series so much is because the main characters have a really feeling of camaraderie and I enjoy their interplay. And although each has their own past and struggles they are likeable and engaging. The story invites you to enjoy it. But what I love the most about this series is something that is rarely found in any series.
A strong, mature and loving relationship between the 2 main characters. In most books once the hero and heroine have found each other the story promptly ends. But what happens later? Do they still carry on? The 2 characters really complement and support each other.
Series: Cin Craven
A nice switch from the heroine who has to do everything or the love interest who is: And this is why I feel lovers of dark fantasy may not find this book as interesting because while there is plenty of tension in the story, the characters actually have a healthy relationship and are happy together. Jan 18, Jen rated it really liked it Shelves: I haven't seen anything about a 4th book - but she left it well open for another story to take place - or maybe another series that takes place along with this - like Rechelle Mead is doing with Vampire Academy and Bloodlines That would be cool!!!
