So when I finished the last book I realized my big colossal mistake. I read the Collector Series first I realize later on I made a bigger mistake not reading this series first before The Collector Series. Brycin' s powers come to light literally by creating an Electrical storm that destroyed Seattle which kills hundreds and lives thousands without homes.
Brycin is left with the guilt even if her powers were used against her will. Her continued journey is a long one but its one that So when I finished the last book I realized my big colossal mistake. Her continued journey is a long one but its one that will have you hanging on every word including your seat to know what happens next. Im in love with stacey's novels and will continue to keep buying her books and stalking her on social media because I need to stay up to date on her work.
I was a little worried at the beginning of this book, but I shouldn't have been. Once the story takes off, it's full speed ahead. My favorite things about this book were all of the new characters introduced and of course, Ember and Eli. Fire in the Darkness was considerably better than the first book in the series.
I can't wait to find out what happens in the third book! Holy cow you guys! I couldn't put it down. Seriously OTP one true pairing! And now I have to wait for the next book. This is going to feel like a long wait. Oh man that ending was crazy! Read at your own risk. Stacey Marie Brown really upped her game with the second book in the Darkness series.
I'm pretty impressed with how much better it was than the first book. I really enjoyed the first book, but there were a few things that I felt needed refinement. Most of those things were definitely improved in this book. The flow of the story is much better in this book. I felt that the first book dragged in the middle a bit, but this one didn't 4. I felt that the first book dragged in the middle a bit, but this one didn't suffer at all in that respect. Everything was spaced out very nicely. I liked the plotting much better in this book. The story is engaging, intriguing, and will keep you wanting to read more.
You will absolutely want to know what is going to happen next. The plot really does thicken and get so much better. I liked the world building much more in this book as well. The first book felt more like a contemporary to me since the paranormal aspects were hidden from the main character for most of the book. This book changed that. We get to see the Otherworld in addition to Earth in this book. I really liked the distinctions between the worlds in the writing. I loved the addition of new characters in this book. I adore all of the side characters and how they become family to Ember, the main character.
Both the Dark Dwellers and the Unseelie King's household become family to her and I liked the way it progressed. I still thought that Ember's character had some annoying traits, but I still like her. She can be a little presumptuous and mouthy, not letting anyone get a word in. This is perhaps a legitimate character flaw that is supposed to bring something to the story, but I found it cringeworthy to read about. I kept yelling at her in my head when she flew off the handle without giving letting anyone else get a word in edgewise.
I am still on board for the hate-to-love trope being played out in the romance between Ember and Eli. I did feel like their coming together wasn't entirely convincing in the first book, and I still feel that way. It happened too quickly for my liking. But I enjoy their romance as a whole even if it didn't come together in the best way.
Ember and Eli are still angsty with each other, though I didn't get the unhealthy "domestic abuse" feel from it in this book like I did in Darkness of Light. I do enjoy their snappy and aggressive banter. It is greatly entertaining. Deep down it shows that the characters are in love, even if they fight it for their own reasons.
I have no doubt that their romance will get even heavier in the rest of the series. Torin is in love with Ember and she cares for him, but she has never claimed to love him in the same way. I loved the dreamscape scenes when Ember would pull Torin, Eli, and herself into them.business.dom1.kh.ua/wp-content/2019-11-17/faf-free-matchmaking.php
Welcome to the Dark Side (The Fallen Men, #2) by Giana Darling
The jealousy was tantalizing. And honestly, any time there is more than one option on the table for romance it makes things way more interesting. The only thing that I remotely disliked in this book was that there were way too many spelling and grammatical errors throughout the book. It needed a serious overload of editing, but the writing is solid and the story is golden. Overall, I am so glad that I decided to continue this series.
I have no doubt that this series will end up being one of my favorites. I already adore it and I'm not even halfway through it. If you are a paranormal romance or urban fantasy fan then you should try this series! More reviews on my blog: I would like to thank the author for offering me an ARC copy of Fire in the Darkness in exchange for an honest review. Brown did not disappoint me one bit and I loved book two just as much as the first. Fire in the Darkness picks up where we left off with Ember trying to survive the destruction of Seattle while running from the Seelie Queen, the Dark Dwellers, and her own guilt….
I loved that it jumped right back into the action and just kept going. I managed to fall even more in love with Ember and she remains to be one of my favorite YA heroines. I loved every second of it. I will warn that once again Ms. Brown leaves us with another cliffhanger and the suspense is going to kill me until I can get my hands on book three. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves Paranormal Romance with a unique twist on the usual fey and demon storyline.
Stacey Marie Brown has created an amazing world that is so easy to jump right into. This is the sequel to one of my favorite books of , Darkness of Light. This was another book that cause me a total book hangover. I am totally addicted to Eli. It was like I pushed everything aside and had to get to this book. I had to know what happened next.
Rush to the front of the line, get me that book!! Oh OH oh Oh oh!!
Fire in the Darkness
SO excited so excited so excited! Okay, back to the book. Sometimes I wanna slap Eli on the back o This is the sequel to one of my favorite books of , Darkness of Light. Sometimes I wanna slap Eli on the back of the head, or knock their heads together until they see how much they want each other. How much they belong together. But most of the time I'm salivating at the sexual tension between the two. It's just enough to frustrate you, but they give in enough to leave you dying for more. Or if you're like me, obsessing.
Dying for that moment when everything works out how you want. Cause it's got to work out that way No way around it. I need it to pleaaaaaase. Just when I think it's going to work out how I want it to.. What if I give a sad face and beg nicely??!! I didn't think so either. Where's the fun in that anyway.
Back to the book. There is so much going on. His blood makes her part Dark Dweller. Torin is using her. But Torin loves her. New Fae are introduced. More details of her race's past. Feel what I'm layin' down? It's everywhere and you know what? I'm lovin' every freaking minute of it. But I'm so confused about Torin. I want to like him, but did he betray her? And Eli- why isn't he opening up and being honest.
I am so confused I'm dying waiting for the next book! DO you hear me!!! I so totes loved this. It's a fast pace, mind screwing, sucking you in and you don't want to find your way out type of book. You need to read it. I give it 5 kick ass, book obsessed stars.
I stayed up until 1 AM last night finishing this I started it at 9 PM, finished the first, jumped into the second. The series is that good. This is one where you pick up the first book and just want to keep going until you have finished the last one available and then you sit here waiting im patiently for the next one to arrive. Ember now knows that she can pull some serious punches with her power, serious as in take out all of Seattle serious.
We also know that Ember is fae and that is why sh I stayed up until 1 AM last night finishing this I started it at 9 PM, finished the first, jumped into the second. We also know that Ember is fae and that is why she has powers. Poor girl is running for her life. I was so happy when Eli showed back up in this book. Both are quick witted and have a sharp tongue, both are deadly dangerous, and watching the two of them play off each other is fun. I loved them, well, minus at least one. That is another group of characters whose interactions together are amazing. There is a twist in this book that had my jaw dropping.
I totally did not see that one coming. I still have so many questions but alas, I think I have to wait for the third book to get my answers. Who is Ember going to be able to trust? You know my hat is thrown in with Eli, but who knows, that may not be the smart choice. Cannot wait for the next. I think I said that already. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side! Firstly I would like to thank Stacey Marie Brown, the author of Fire in the Darkness, for presenting me this opportunity of reviewing your wonderful book.
The story line is awesome and the characters are strong, flourished and easy to connect with. Speaking of Eli, the hot and handsome hero of the story and the love of Ember, well he is the love of many others, including me as well, Oh what can I say, he is just awesome. They are just made for each other pair, as I like to call them and you are going to enjoy it as much as I did, well I can bet on that guys! And like it or not, I can sense Eli claiming you. He's making you part of the clan.
And you know you could, too. There are no good and bad sides here. Good versus evil thinking is a narrow-minded way to look at it and will only get you killed. It was not good or bad, but simply a state of being—a neutral state only good or bad by your intent. He does help our girl though.
Ember has grown up so much and become so much more than that girl that started in book one. They were explosive just like I knew they would be! I mean come on! Off to book 3! I finished Fire in the Darkness in a little over two hours and I am impatiently waiting for book three. Thanks so much to Stacey for the ARC!
Now to review, I won't be doing a synopsis because I don't want to give anything away, but I need to gush about how much I loved this book! Not only was the story great, the book was extremely well written. The characters were relatable and realistic; I found myself Fantastic! The characters were relatable and realistic; I found myself emotionally invested earlier on to Ember. Ember reacted to the horror and hardships of her new life as any teenage girl would. She was sarcastic, scared, loyal to her friends and family, and drawn with reservations towards Eli.
The relationship between Ember and Eli isn't a "normal" romance. Eli is pretty much all alpha male while Ember is not one to follow anyone easily. I love Eli, he isn't a knight in shining armor but he doesn't claim to be. He owns his darkness even as his attraction to Ember grows. The scenes between them are explosive, touching, and heartbreaking all at once.
I can't wait to see where Ember and Eli's relationship goes. Fire in the Darkness does have a cliffhanger ending just like Darkness of Light. It will have you biting your nails as you read; and it definitely has me eagerly waiting for book 3! I loved the first book, Darkness of Light. And I loved the sequel too. It has a good mix of humor, drama, action and tension. As was the case with the first book--I couldn't put it down until I was finished. And when I finished it I regretted that I was done already. I can't wait for the third. The characters are complicated and multi-dimensional and compelling.
I love Ember, the heroine. It is not often that you find a female lead that is strong, likable and capable. Eli is funny, frustrating, s I loved the first book, Darkness of Light. Eli is funny, frustrating, strong and seriously hot all rolled into one. It feels natural and well-paced. There are many layers to the story and the world of the series but they are easy to follow and are clearly described. The plot of the series moves along well. It's not too fast or too slow--it's just right. I honestly can't wait for the third installment. The only reason this is a 3 star instead of a 2.
Throughout the book Ember seemed like a whiny brat at times while flipping back to being a good heroine. I still do not like Eli. I can never fully tell what is going to happen with him. Is he going to final give into the sexual tension or is he going to keep being an asshole. Ember makes bad decision after bad decision. I get she has trust issues but she's a freaking idiot. I sort of guessed on The only reason this is a 3 star instead of a 2. I sort of guessed one right as it was about to be revealed the other was a complete shock to me.
If it wasn't for the cliff hanger ending and me reading this as a buddy read, I might have DNF the series. Two more books to go. I am still recooperating from going to the Avenged Sevenfold concert and this book frustrated me to no end. Will be back with a possible rant review. This book started shortly after the first one left off. I can't wait for spring to get here so can get my hands on the third book! I really don't know what to think. I do love the plot but the connections are so confusing.
When I think I have a grasp on things something happens that throws my world upside down. I don't know who to trust or what to believe. What I hate the most is that Eli's and Ember's relationship is based on nothing. No trust, no loyalty, no romance. There is no communication between the two, except for insulting and demeaning. I couldn't function that way. I hope things get better in the next book I really don't know what to think. I hope things get better in the next books.
Holy hot smokes and demon babies. Holy crap on ash bark. I have stumbled onto pure awesome that is this series. I am so frustrated from all these secrets and shit keeps happening. So many lies and betrayals it hurts my heart to keep reading! I must really be a masochist or a glutton for punishment, lol. Loved reading this book Videos About This Book. About Stacey Marie Brown. Trivia About Fire in the Darkn I have read the previous book and loved it but feel this is easily a standalone book. Zeus happen to meet Lou when she was 7 years old. Lou was an innocent victim of a shoot out wheres Zeus saved her life. But they both were hurt by a bullet and Zeus ended up killing a person. They never met before but she felt he was her guardian monster angel.
Because of that bullet they found out early she had cancer and it help to start treatment early. Lou and Zeus spoke at the hospital and someone how formed a bond that never went away. They became Pen Pals and Lou felt Zeus gave her the strength to fight the cancer and she never lost her feelings that he was her guardian monster. Later when she became a young teenager Zeus stop writing her scared that she would for a crush or love attachment knowing that she was a good girl not needing to be corrupted by his bad life. But Lou never stopped wanting to turn away from the girl image and took to the Dark side anyway.

I completely loved it and could not put it down So worth my book-hangover!! And I will tell you that I could hardly put it down y'all!!! Welcome to the Dark Side consumed my life for 24 hours This is my first read by Giana Darling and it sure will not be my last!!
But I did not feel I was missing anything since I haven't read book 1, but I will tell you that I will be going back to read book 1 and whatever else I can get my grubby little hands on!! Holy Shit this book was the bomb. I know it's just my opinion, but I am trying to show how much I loved this MC book!!! Giana Darling knocked Welcome to the Dark Side out of the park!!!! Now onto my review I really don't want to say too much cuz really, you should just go dig in and hold on for the wild ride!!
Zeus Garro is the bad ass MC president. He happens to share an unusual friendship while he is in prison with a young lady that was injured in the crossfires of rival MC clubs. This part of the book, ohh Hell there are lots of parts of this book that will definitely pull at your heart strings. They become Pen Pals and I will tell you I fell sooo hard for this unlikely pair.
You will get sooo sucked into their friendship and see the bond forming right before your very eyes!! I just loved it!! I wouldn't say I was bored, per se, but I was not fully into it. I'm not really sure this will be all that memorable in the long run either This is Lou and Zeus's story.
They meet when Lou is 7 and is caught up in a biker shootout, and they are both shot by the same bullet when Zeus shields her. In the hospital, they connect instantly and end up making an untraditional friendship that leads to being pen pals while Zeus is in jail. They discuss hard topics like Lou's cancer and Zeus's fears. About 10 years later, they are reunited when Lou has grown up a lot and is wanting out of her "perfect" mold that her parents have made for her since her cancer has returned.
After some avoidance and denial, Zeus decides that he is the man for the job in letting Lou test out the dark side safely. There is some typical mc drama, some family drama, and some sexy times Overall Pace of Story: I never skimmed, but I did feel easily distracted and this made it feel slow at times. This is Lou and Zeus story of living, surviving, loving, fighting, losing and persevering. I ugly cried more than once and I loved every single word. This story was just Welcome to the Dark Side. Mar 15, R. Give me Daddy Zeus!! Apr 16, Sarah - Musings of the Modern Belle rated it it was amazing. This is my first. I needed to get my hands on Zeus, and neither he nor this story disappointed. Zeus Garro is everything and nothing like what I expected.
His level of possessiveness is to be expected, and it did nothing but make me lust after him even more. From the beginning Giana Darling humanizes him. She shows us, through correspondences with Lou, that he has a brightness to the grit, that there is a man who is fiercely loyal, protects the innocence of others, and man who loves devoutly. Like with Lou, she lets us fall in love with his good before she shows us the bad, and like our heroine, we accept his criminal and violent nature, and we cling to the image of the fallen angel, to the man who loves and protects those he values with unfailing devotion.
He is the epitome of a God who has fallen from grace, but thrives in the darkness.
See a Problem?
She is 17 and knows who she is and what she wants not your typical seventeen year old. She has, however, lived a life most teens have not. Forced to face mortality makes a person see the world differently. It emboldens her, makes her go after what she wants. Although she is all bright lights and beauty, darkness simmers under the surface, and it is what pulls her to her Guardian Monster. She has gumption and tenacity, and she embraces his life as though she was made for it.
And although there are moments where her age shine, many times readers forget she is young because she has an old soul. The story for me at the beginning was a bit slow. It was, however necessary. The opening of the story allows readers to see a non-sexual relationship develop between Zeus and Lou. We get to see their characters change and grow.
Once these two begin to interact again in person, though, it is off to the races. The seduction and resistance is enthralling, the acquiescence to desire electric, and the love that blooms is captivating. The danger was just as enticing as the romance. With each allusion to mythology and other classics, I felt my English heart flutter. These are not some random references placed in the story either. It accentuates the storyline impeccably, and I am just as floored by her prose as I am by the story itself.
Giana Darling surpasses my expectations with Welcome to the Dark Side. It is dark and erotic, but it is so much more. But it is also a story of a chosen family, of love and loyalty, and of owning who you are and making no apologies for it. View all 7 comments.
I am SO in love with this man, its ridiculous. Let me just be honest for a second, this book is NOT going to be to everyones taste. Fair warning, if you arent a fan of forbidden romance, dont even bother. If, like me, that doesnt matter to you in the slightest and you are ready for Daddy Zeus, then this book is going to be the ride of your life. Tell me, Lou, when i first break through, will you cry pretty tears for me?
I think i was an absolute mess everytime Zeus spoke. He is absolutely filthy at times, and I. Dont get me wrong though, he had his sweet moments, and it was so perfect to see that caring side of him, and how he utterly worshipped Lou. I have to mention some others though. This girl is so fucking wise, and brave, and just bad-ass.
I really adored her. Ooooooh, I love Nova, and really hope he gets his own story. I loved his relationship with Lou. Anyway, I think ive gone on waaaay too long, but you get the idea I fucking loved this book. Giana Darling is an incredible author and has created a story and characters that are going to blow you away. I know that i am going to be read this book many times over in the future.

Zeus and Lou's story will make you want more even after you're done reading! I love the author's writing. She has this way of explaining and describing things so poetically that you feel like you are in the moment with the characters. I could actually see Zeus's eyes in my mind with such clairty! The story is an absolutely thrilling rollercoaster of emotions that will leave you pleasantly exhausted. The balance of angst, humor, drama, mystery is perfect.

It was obvious from the start that he was a sexy, larger than life presence that lived by his own rules and was as loyal as they come. I knew I loved him then. However, I had no idea he would imbed himself into my heart the way he did in this beautiful, emotional story of forbidden love. Lou is young, but she is an old soul and wise beyond her years.
She is insightful and understands people and their intentions, cruel or otherwise, so much more than the average teen. Lou wants more out of life than her distant parents are willing to give. She plays the part they expect of her as the dutiful daughter, but deep down she has a strong spirit and wants to live life on the dark side. Zeus tries to keep his distance, but like a moth to a flame he can no longer deny he needs her in his life. I loved watching their relationship development as Lou continued to grow as a young woman, trying to figure out her true path in life.
Their love story is unconventional, but despite their age difference it is clear they are soulmates. Zeus treats her like an equal and she loves him even more for it. Despite his extremely tough exterior, he is honest, loving and the downright perfect Guardian Monster. Holy geezus, that man could set the world on fire. He does not hold back where his girl is concerned. Giana develops her characters beautifully, with heart and true emotion. She draws you in and holds you so captive, you have no choice but to become attached to them all. I think one of the things I loved the most about their story is the sense of unity and togetherness.
Blood or not, they were a family and nothing stood in their way from protecting one another. At the time, the President of The Fallen MC was just trying to save an innocent; never in a million years did he imagine it would be the catalyst to change both of their futures. Instead of dancing around it, the writer revels in it, to this reader's delight. This is great book porn, but also really well written.
